The Wood Buffalo Food Bank is pleased to announce the results of the 34 th Annual Syncrude Fall Food Drive, which generated a combined impact value of $433,165.70 through monetary and food donations.
Over the course of the campaign weekend, the collective generosity of businesses and community members resulted in $345,034.65 in monetary donations and 23,755 pounds of food, resources that will help meet the growing need for food assistance across the region.
Although this year’s campaign fell short of its goals of raising $400,000 and collecting 35,000 pounds of food, the generosity shown by the Wood Buffalo community will have a significant impact on local food bank operations and programming.
“The Fall Food Drive continues to demonstrate the incredible generosity and community spirit of Wood Buffalo,” said Tiffany Stagg, Executive Director of the Wood Buffalo Food Bank. “Despite challenging weather conditions throughout the weekend, residents, volunteers, sponsors, and partners came together to support neighbors facing food insecurity. Every donation received will help ensure that individuals and families in our region have access to nutritious food when they need it most.”

The Wood Buffalo Food Bank extends its sincere gratitude to the many businesses, volunteers and supporters who contributed to the success of this year’s campaign, including:
Syncrude, for their ongoing commitment to the campaign through generous financial support, as well as many employees who volunteered throughout the weekend.
Cooper & Company, this year’s bag sponsor, whose support helped facilitate food collection at participating stores.
Volker Stevin, for providing collection trucks used throughout the campaign.
Tim Hortons, for supplying coffee and donuts to fuel volunteers during the drive.
Petro-Canada Thickwood, for supplying water to our teams and volunteers throughout the weekend.
The hundreds of volunteers, donors and community partners, who dedicated their time, resources, and donations to the campaign.
Since its inception, the Syncrude Fall Food Drive has served as one of the region’s most important annual fundraising and food collection initiatives, helping the Wood Buffalo Food Bank meet the growing needs of the community.
“The success of this campaign is a direct reflection of a community that cares for one another,” said Tiffany Stagg, Executive Director of the Wood Buffalo Food Bank. “We are grateful for everyone who participated and helped ensure the Food Bank can continue serving those who rely on our programs.”
