Your McMurray Magazine's Best of YMM Readers' Choice 2024 Presented by Rivers Casino Entertainment Centre

There were some surprises along the way, including our first non-human winner in Best People, with Greb splitting the award with his owner, Sandy, for Best Community Champion. Sadly, Greb passed away earlier this year, but the impact his smiling face had on the community will be celebrated with this award.

We know 66 categories are a LOT of categories, but each year, we receive far more suggestions for more categories to add, and while we can’t add them all, we certainly want to try! This year, we were proud to add new categories such as Best School, Best Dental Office and Best Place to Watch Sports, which ended up being an entertaining category with votes for not just local pubs where fans can watch the NHL and NFL but also the local venues for the Fort McMurray Oil Barons and the Fort McMurray Giants.

Best Food of YMM 2024

You may have noticed some categories were absent this year - well, that’s because in order to save YOU the voter work (and us, too), we’ve moved all of our food categories to the Best of YMM: FOOD! Nominations will launch at the same time as this edition of the magazine, and the winners will be published in our digital Food & Entertainment Guide, which will launch this summer, fittingly as a part of the Fort McMurray Food Festival.
