Best of Anything Else 2024

“RENT The Musical was a wild and wonderful journey! It was truly a production by this community, for this community, and it being named Best Theatre Show really emphasizes how well received it was by the community as well. The vision for RENT was more than just the final performances, but we wanted to create new and more inclusive processes and build the capacity of local theatre artists, all while telling a story that was compelling, beautiful, and moving. The undertaking of producing a Broadway musical as a volunteer-run independent theatre company was tremendous, but it was worth every drop of blood, sweat, and strip of gaff tape as we saw artists from all walks of life connect with a wonderful audience in telling a story that holds a lot of truth and beauty, not to mention unforgettable music! We are humbled and ecstatic that Wood Buffalo loved RENT as much as we did.” — RENT The Musical
