YMM: What keeps you in Fort McMurray? (What do you consider to be the best things about the community?)
NG: The connection to the land and the people. My grandfather was born in Chard in 1900. My relatives have been on these lands for generations.
YMM: In your opinion, in what areas does Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo need improvement?
NG: Downtown. When I was a child, we had more activities in our region than we do now. I love sharing stories about how the city used to be.
YMM: What does community mean to you?
NG: Community means to be feeling safe and cared for, having opportunities, coming together, building a strong foundation, to be proud of being a part of something great!
YMM: What is the best advice that you ever received?
NG: Don’t forget who you are and where you come from. Always be mindful and kind.
YMM: What is the worst advice that you ever received?
