She also provides support to the overall Métis community regarding employment, business development, education and training, as well as coordinates their cultural events.

Stella completed the Aboriginal Leadership Management course through the University of Calgary, and graduated with a Business diploma from Keyano College.

As someone who enjoys volunteering her time, Stella organizes and plans events in the community, and pitching in wherever she can help out. She currently sits on the board of the Regional Aboriginal Recognition Awards, and the Willow Lake Métis Local 780.

As the fifth generation living in Wood Buffalo, Stella has been able to see and hear so much of the history that our community has to offer. Stories were told to her that have been passed down from generation to generation about the fur trade days, one-room schools, life on the NT freight boats, the first oil boom days, and so much more. She is proud of the rich history, and proud of all the people who lived here.

In her free time, Stella enjoys time with her family. She enjoys showing her children how to hunt, fish, and harvest their land, and is learning how to harvest medicinal plants, and the various ways to prepare them accordingly.

Stella's commitment to the betterment of Wood Buffalo is one of the reasons why she has been named one of YMM's Top 50 Under 50.
