Thomas Hopkins

Thomas Hopkins is a talented photographer and videographer recognized as Best Videographer in the 2023 Best of YMM awards. By day, he works as an Intermediate Tailings Planning Engineer at Suncor, though he describes photography as where he's "truly connected with the community." Despite studying Mineral Resource Engineering, Hopkins launched Thomas Hopkins Photography in 2017 without prior camera experience. He's built his skills through self-teaching and mentorship, expanding into videography. Beyond his dual careers, Hopkins volunteers as Vice Chair of FuseSocial's Board of Directors and has spent seven years with the 868 Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron, contributing to youth leadership development. A family man who relocated from Nova Scotia with his wife, Hopkins emphasizes that "the people that I get to work with" in both careers provide the greatest fulfillment. He values reconnecting with repeat photography clients and witnessing their life milestones over time.
