Growing up in the vibrant community of Fort McKay, Bryce learned early on the importance of staying connected to his roots while also forging a path in the modern world. Today, his dedication to blending cultural heritage with professional expertise has earned him a well-deserved spot on Your McMurray Magazine’s “Top 50 Under 50” list.

A graduate of Business Administration with a specialization in Management, Bryce has made a career in Human Resources, where he finds fulfillment in helping both individuals and organizations thrive. “The most rewarding part of my career is guiding employees through their professional development and fostering an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued,” he shares. Bryce’s passion for creating a positive workplace culture mirrors his commitment to community building, both professionally and personally.

Bryce’s connection to his culture is deeply personal and extends well beyond his career. As a traditional drummer and country singer/songwriter, he uses music to promote and preserve the rich heritage of the Fort McKay First Nation. Whether performing at local events or composing songs that reflect his community’s values and experiences, Bryce is committed to sharing the beauty of his culture with the world. “Music is a powerful tool for bringing people together. It’s a way for me to uplift and inspire my community while staying true to who I am,” he says.

His dedication to cultural preservation also comes through in his volunteer work. Bryce actively participates in cultural activities in Fort McKay, from supporting local initiatives to offering his traditional drumming and singing talents at gatherings. “Giving back to my community is a way to honour the support my family and my community have always given me. It’s my way of showing appreciation and contributing to our collective well-being,” Bryce notes.

Growing up, Bryce was inspired by his close-knit family, who placed great emphasis on cultural preservation, hard work, and community involvement. Their unwavering support helped him navigate his academic and professional journey, and now, as a father, Bryce is passing those same values to his children. “My family’s influence has been instrumental in shaping who I am today. They’ve taught me the importance of staying true to our traditions while also striving for success in the modern world.”

Looking ahead, Bryce has ambitious goals, both personally and professionally. He hopes to become a household name as a country music artist, using his platform to reach a wide audience while sharing stories rooted in his community’s heritage. At the same time, he is focused on his career in business management, where he aspires to be a role model for young entrepreneurs, especially those from Indigenous backgrounds. “I want to show others that it’s possible to balance a successful career with your cultural passions. I hope to inspire the next generation to pursue their dreams while staying true to their roots.”

Bryce’s vision for the future of the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB) is one of growth, inclusivity, and cultural pride. He sees his role in contributing to the region’s development through a multifaceted approach—supporting local businesses, promoting entrepreneurship, and fostering cultural preservation. “Our community is strong and resilient, and I believe we can overcome any challenges we face if we work together.”
